Spotted moray

Would a spotted moray be good in a 100 gallon tank with a sergeant major damsel, and possible other semi aggressive fish?

Need more to go on than spotted moray- a lot of them are. Some of the mellowest ones- and a couple of the most agressive.

syrinx is referring to multiple species going by spotted moray, a scientific name would be nice so we know the exact species.

That is a bad boy. I wouldnt have a problem with a sargent major or other inexpensive fish you can afford to lose. I have had a couple that pound for pound were the most agressive eels I have seen. Like a 2ft specimin attacking and killing lookdowns the size of dinner plates- pretty much for sport. They can be fine for a time- but if they decide to, they have the ability to kill about any fish that would fit in 100 gallon tank.

My g. moringa is still about 20" but it is ferocious. i dont trust any fish with it other than its eel tankmate that it has tolerated. anything else tends to be at risk. a bunch of sargeant majors is good as they are easily replaced and make the display look better. the miami seaquarium used to keep a display with a couple of large moringa and g. vicinus with a shoal of adult sargeant majors

I agree the mil is a much better choice. Always a risk- but much less than moringa- which may be pound for pound the most agressive eel out there.
