I have a 300 gallon SPS Reef and Im interested in adding some Spiral corals and Gorgonians. I have 4 400watt MH and strong flow for the SPS.

My questions are....Will they do ok in these conditions? AND I have many large and small Angels in my tank. How do they do with gorgonians and Spiral corals?

Thanks for your help!

Hmmm... Im tempted to try a spiral coral.... I've got an order of fish coming in from the DD Tuesday and I was thinking about adding one to my order. But if they are doomed from the start, that doesn't make much sense...

You should be fine. They are very easy to take care of. They do require spot feeding a couple times a week. Other than that no worries, I don't think your angels will touch them.

I have spirals and they are doing great, good growth, but I do not have any angels. I have always been told they are not good in a reef tank so I stay away from them, well I do have a pygmy angel which is reef safe.

I have my spiral coral in a tank with a multicolored angel and he leave is alone. It has polyp extenstion constantly and has grown about an inch or two since I got it in may. Before that it was in a tank with a flame angel and again no issues.

Gorgonians I have had a mixed bag with angels. I had a flame that picked and killed one. I have a gorg with the multicolored right now and he leaves it alone. Go figure.

what species are you adding? with that info we can tell you.

my bellus female, a species not known for messing with coral, didnt mess with my spiral or gorg.

I was just thinking of a Sprial coral like a Junceella sp.

I have other large angels like a conspic, regal, goldflake, blueline, scribble, ect...
