Very nice tank. I don't believe people say that any more, but you usually need at least double the amount of fixtures the manufacture say you do. Most really successful led tanks and every inch covered with leds or a mixture of leds and t5.
So I guess the title of this thread was meant a sarcasm? Was the op. trying to be funny or make a point? Whole thing looks a bit contrived but hey what ever floats your boat :frog: Nice little video, post another one in 12 months including a FTS
Nice video, i think a time lapse vid over a year would have been good, also how do we know that its under radions? i didnt see them in the vid??? its really not proof of anything at all...
If you go to YouTube and look at the uploaded videos you can see older ones including this one that shows what appears to be 2 radions over the tank. You'll need to visit youtube to see the very top edge of this video.
The question is, so what? There's a lot of folks who have grown nice corals under Radions. I personally don't think the acros look as good as when grown under T5, but that's just my personal opinion.
The topic is definitely still relevant, although probably not in the SPS forum. There are still plenty of people out there talking down LEDs as a viable lighting source for a successful SPS reef.
Clearly it's a conspiracy. Instead of me believing that LEDS grow such nice corals, I'm going to go way overboard and assume that these were fresh corals jack-hammered out of some fragile reef somewhere in Southeast Asia. This guy traded some Alibaba stock them and put them in a brand new tank with newly minted salt-water and lights (probably Chinese knock-offs made by a subsidiary of Harbor Freight). In a few days those corals are going to be either browned out or bleached.
