SPS and Zeo Additives

I have been running my 40B SPS tank now for about a year or so.
The frist Amino Acid product I started using was FUEL. Because my system was running with no detectable PO4, or Nitrate I saw quite a bit more PE within the first week or two of using a AA product.
When the FUEL ran out I started using Acropower, I didn't notice any major differences using this product and still have been able to retain PE, Color, and low nutrients (no detectable PO4 via hanna, no detectable NO3).

I have always been intrigued with Zoevits products but never used any of these before, mostly because of the mixed stories, and lack of an explanation to what is in these little blue glass bottles.

I decided to bite the bullet and try a few of the additives for fun.
It seems that a while back I came across a piece of literature that suggested NOT using additives in a non-zeo system.

While I do not use any of the zeovit products, I still have very low nutrients and skim heavily.

I am not having an issue with coloration whatsoever, and in 15 years of being in this hobby currently have the best colored corals since i started.

I bought a nano back from BRS consisting of:
Phol's Coral Vitalizer
Sponge Power
Amino Acid LPS
Phol's Extra

And the main product I bought was the Amino Acid concentrate (instead of acropower).

Does anyone use these products in a "non-zeo" environment?
Suggestions/warnings?

Testimony?

I'm curious as well. I've also thought of using some products although I don't use the full system. I also skim heavy and use fuel with best colors in my tank now. Tagging along

I also started with the nano pack. I routinely use Pohls Xtra and Sponge Power now. Not sure how much it's doing but tank looks good:)

I don't think you need to be running a full Zeovit system to make good use of their additives. You can use any other means to achieve ULNS, like carbon/bacteria dosing, and after colors start to pale the Zeo additives are very effective.

I've had good luck in the past using the Polyp Labs carb/bac components along with Pohl's Xtra and Sponge Power. On my current tank I followed the same process: daily dosing of carb/bac alone until there's no algae anywhere and Acropora colors start to lighten, then adding Zeo additives. I've only been adding Pohl's Xtra this time, but I started seeing improved coloration literally after two days.

Please note that I am not experiencing any issues with coloration.

I ran out of Pohls pretty quickly @ 2 ml daily.

the AA concentrate, Sponge Power, Coral Vitalizer, and AALPS are all I have left.

does Phols Extra come in a concentrate?

Anyone else using any of these additives?

My reef runs like a zeo system, but is not. However, I have used two zeo products from the beginning. I use the AA concentrate and the coral vitalizer. I alternate them every other day. Like I said, my reef does run low nutrient so I think these two products have helped, but will never know for sure because I've never not used them.

I also run a zeovit hybrid system, I use start3 as C-source and Brightwell's MB7 for bac source. I have learned through trial and error and testing my dosing amounts. I like for NO3 to stay at 0-2PPm and PO4 at 0.02 I also use a few different supplements from zeovit, like Pohls extra, zeospur, B and K strong, AALPS and spongepower. IMO, I would only dose the pohls extra 2 times per week, and about 1/2 that dose when starting out. The trick with zeovit is being able to understand coral health and vitality. These products are all quite concentrated, and while the label's instructions say one thing, IME, I have found less goes a long way with zeovit products. I would spend time researching each product on the zeovit website, read articles, testimony's, and TOTQ threads. You will learn that these guys are not dumping a lot of product in their tank, in fact they usually dose down once established and zeovit balanced. I would ramp down on extra, maybe every 3-4 days, look for it's impact and effects on the corals. Then I would dose another product, wait a few days, look for it's impact, etc.... Once you can determine the effects of each product, what they do, how your corals respond, then you can incorporate a schedule for dosing, like every Monday, Friday= Pohls Extra. Every Tues and Sat=Aminos You get the idea :) I love zeospur, dose it every week, however, it takes 2-3 days to notice, it gives a sort of metallic hue to the zoox. It however can destroy your corals if you do too much, again why I mention to research each and every product, and wait a few days each time introducing a new blue bottle ;)

I've been using spounge power in my tank for couple months with no negitive effects....and I just ordered pohls extra special.... I'm not conserned

One thing if sujest is don't use the full dose of what they sujest... Just do 25% see where it goes
