SPS Color Issue...mine are a little pastel

Thanks, Lauren. It really grows like a weed. I bought it from Greg a little less than a year ago and it was about the size of a nickle or so. It's now grown over the frag disc, the little rock I glued the disc to and now it's covering a bigger rock. It just needs to be kept in the shade to keep it nice and blue.

Roman, I sure hope they do. It seems that everything I've added has paled quite a bit from when it came home. The green monti in the back and the flower petal monti in the front are 2 good gauges of the way things are going. The green monti came from Greg and is that crazy green one he's been spreading around the state. The flower petal came from Paul and was also properly colored when it came home. Most everything is growing quickly (except the acros, they're growing slowly) but the colors are just muted. I think I'm going to try a few weeks at low(er) light and see what happens. I pulled one of the blue plus bulbs last night, so hopefully that does something.

on a fun note, I scored what I think is a bird of paradise birds nest (or a wild equivalent, not sure) for $10. It was a little browned, but the polyps are clearly purple and the tissue looks yellowish. It bleached a little when I put it in the tank, but the polyps are still out and it seems to be recovering. If it's what I think it is it will be a great addition.

I lost my Bird of Paradise I bought from Scott.

I gotta get back to Tulsa and get me another one! Love em.

I haven't checked Ca or Mg because they were pretty close to proper levels. Alk is back up where it should be (or close). I ran out of my accurate titration kit and none of the local stores seem to have a decent kit in stock. I'm going to have to order one to get an exact reading. I have one of the kits that gives a Low, Mid, High graduated scale with ball park numbers to match the shade of the liquid. I need to order a titration kit. Based on the kit it's about 9 and the color has been the same a couple of days after I started daily dosing.

I haven't done any really thorough checks, but I have eyes in the tank all the time. Are there any tips for a good search? I have noticed some dead patches developing on one acro, but I chalked it up to a possible alk burn when I washed my dosing vile in the tank instead of the sump (newbie mistake 2+yrs in...haha). They popped up 3 days ago and haven't really spread. They're located only on the top of the coral and no others seem to be affected.

I just strained my eyes and it does appear that I've brought in red bugs somehow. I take it that a treatment with interceptor is my next step? I'm off to do some research about this, but what would advice woudl you guys offer up aside from QT next time?

Keep digging, look for AEFW. Make sure if you have or don't have them before interceptor treatment. Interseptor treatment are pretty easy, PM me if you need help with it. Check stuff before you put them in the tank. Ask before you buy it.
