i have had the reef brite led on now for 4 days for 10hrs a day. i havent notices any bleaching but i have notice one of my monties has retracted its polyps. Anybody else use the reef brite led and if so did you acclimate your corals?

Yeah that yellow is nice, camera effect perhaps? If they look like that to the eye you've got yourself something special! :celeb1:

Very nice batch of pictures but the first ones do look like they are representing green as yellow. In the last FTS you will see a green hammer, green acropora and green zoas....but the FTS earlier on they all look yellow. Im sure its just an over adjustment of the white balance.

Either case your tank looks great and super healthy.

you are correct, i did use a manual white balance. the manual white balance made the blue and red corals look more realistic but it turned the greens a bit yellow. the pics are not photoshoped just different camera settings.

Congrats on the great looking tank! Could I have a detailed description of your vinegar routine?

I might take a different approach to carbon dosing then some people. I carbon dose for a two months on and then stop for a month. I find if you carbon dose for too long you will starve your tank and some corals show signs of pale corals or poor health.

I do like that the carbon dosing will drive organics down and starve off algae but it's a very hard balance and to be honest i haven't nailed it yet. I add kalk to my vinegar and saturated the vinegar as much as it will hold with the kalk. This way it neutralizes the PH and helps add a bit of balanced cal /alk.

I dose about 5 ml a day when i am going full at on but I slow increase up to this point and slowly decrease it downwards when i am begging to stop dosing.

The most crucial thing to watch for when carbon dosing is your alkalinity if it is unstable or sways below 6dkh or above 10dkh some corals will start to stn. I recently started to lose tissue on my tri color acro when i accidently let my alk get up to 10dkh while carbon dosing. The second I corrected the alk the loss of tissue stopped and the coral recovered.
