Sps Disease?

So I bought a frag from my LFS about a week ago. Then this happened. This has happened to another frag I bought from them as well. All my other frags seem fine with no problems. I was told this is some type of disease? If so, is this just trash? Or should I leave it in the tank to see if it will come back?

looks like STN ... from bottom, do you have any more SPS in that tank ? doing fine.

Sure do.

Been in there over 2 months, seen decent growth. I have a few others as well

Yeah my last one got STN as well... but only the ones that I get from my LFS... does that have something to do with it? Because my sps i get from other sources always seem to be fine.

ok well since other SPS are doing fine, we can eliminate water ISsues somewhat. as long as KH is stable as montis are less sensitive than acros.

from the pic, it looks like its loosing tissue, so I would also rule out AEFW.

one thing that comes to my mind is the salinity of the LFS ? if its much lower than yours, you might want to take longer accilimating the coral.


Im sure others will have some bettter pointers for you as well

I never thought about salinity. I usually do drip acc. for about half hour. Next time I go I will ask what they are at I am always 1.025. I can always maybe drip acc for longer next time
