Not messing my journal mate. You post as many Kevin Koala pics as you want mate. Since Kevin is an AEFW killer for SPS corals, Kevin Koala is NOT OFF TOPIC.

You Aussies and your koalas....
You never know when to put the koala away!!
:)

Bahahaha !!!

LOL.

Anyway guys, tomorrow I am going on a road trip with a couple other guys visiting a few LFS's. Hopefully I can find some Acropora gems.
I am really after a metallic blue deepwater type, so wish me luck. :D

My psychic acro powers lead me to believe you scored ............ 3 new acros ! How are they going Sahin :)

All doing well mate.

However, this morning I woke up and saw that the tank is all CLOUDY. The acros have their mesenterial filaments full out like I've never seen before.

I noticed the fish eating "something" in the water...then I saw all my snails were at the waterline...

The snails must have released eggs etc and the fish and corals are going nuts. But the acros have CRAZY mesenterial filaments out...I'm scared some of the acros might sting each other...

Will see what happens later in the day once the tank lights come on.

Sahin,

You've been doing very well. Everything is looking good and healthy. I would also like to see an up-to-date FTS when you're able. I was looking into the ATI LED Power Modules but do not like what they have to offer with my tank footprint. The cost also seems a bit high for what you get.

You're doing a very nice job and keep up the good work. Small tanks unite!

Yeah those snail spawns can give you a scare now and again! usually ends in a handful of new baby trochus in the sump tho, thats pretty nice :)

Whats up with no pictures available? You need a better image host for sure.

Glad to hear those new corals are doing well mate. It's funny you mention the snails because about 3 weeks ago i watched a trochus squirt 'stuff' for about 20 seconds and most of the acros had reduced PE whilst only a few extended filaments so i thought it was a negative reaction. The water had a milky wash to it for a couple of hours.
The skimmer cleans it up right smartly :)

Hey there. Nice to see you on my thread.

Is your tank the 50G 36x18x18? If so, then the 4x39w with two cluster ATI Powermodule will be perfect for your tank.

What lights do you have at the moment? If you have the AI Sols, then if I were you, I'd keep them and add a couple of T5's front and back of the Sols. My LFS runs AI Sols + T5 and has great colour in his SPS.

And yeah, updated photos on your thread would be nice. :D

Those Trochus snails do produce baby snails in my tank. I've had a self sustaining population.

As for the photos... :( I've run out my Photobucket monthly bandwidth; and I am using accounts for the photos too!

Yeah I have a 50g 36x18x18. When I first started the tank I had sol blues and wasnt happy with them so I swapped them out for an ati 6 bulb 24w fixture. If I add something I will probably add 1 or two 24" xho or regular reefbrite strips. I will probably do the xho versions since it will allow me to have more bulb combinations on my ati.

Ill put pics up as soon as I get the algae beat that I let go. For the past 6 months or so all I was doing was keeping the fish alive and growing algae.

I almost thought for a moment that one of my kids had poured MILK into the tank! But my kids are well behaved and even my 4 year old girl knows how much I love my tank and they never mess with the tank.

The fish are still eating the snail eggs because I can see them snapping at the water crazily! :fun5:

If you've got a 6tube 24watt Sunpower, then I would definitely add the XHO Reefbrites. Two would be awesome.

I modded my 6x24watt Sunpower into 5x24watt with 24watts of LED inside the unit! Was pretty cool, ie everything internal etc. :)

Yeah I remember your old light. You did a very nice modding job and set the stage for ATI LED Powermodule. I was just thinking the other day, I bet ATI gave you the powermodule for free and to promote for giving them the idea.

I was thinking if I went with 2 reefbrite xho's it would also give me the option down the line to upgrade my tank to a bit wider. I regretting buying this tank and wished I would have gone a tad wider and a bit shorter. I think my next tank will be 30x24x16.

With the xhos I was thinking of running 3 blue+, 1 GE, 1 purple+, and 1 coral +. What do you think? I am aiming for balanced growth and 20k look.

Ha! I wish ATI gave me a free light! I hope they read this thread and give my next light for free! :D

My current tank is 30x22x18; I like the 22" front to back space. However, for my next tank I am going 30x30x24 "cube". I really like those dimensions and saw the exact same tank a couple of days ago in person and just love it!

If you have the XHO, that combo will look awesome. It will look very much like the Radium 20K. Have a look at Rehypes tank running almost the same combo, go back a few pages to see the awesome colouration he was getting: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2020480&page=24
