Ultimate Reefer
Hey peoples. I am sorry I havent updated the thread and havent had the chance to answer many of the PM's I've received over the past few months.
Life has been extremely busy and for the first time since I joined RC I've been away from the forums for a long while. I have been busy making up lost hours at work, coming home late and then starting to decorate my kids bedroom and helping the out with usual home life stuff. :crazy1:
During that time the tank took a turn for the bad...I saw good colours in my acros as well as growth and became complacent...the change in the tank and coral health took place too slowly for me to notice...:headwally:
Anyway, currently I am battling a very slow tissue loss on many of my corals. I have lost a few large colonies that I grew from tiny frags. I do have backups with friends, but that it not the point.
I am not sure if the TN is due to a relative spraying room freshener a while ago...but I am carrying out lots of water changes and it seems to be settling.
My once HOT PINK Milli is just a NICE BROWN Milli.
When I look back at photos of my Orange Passion Acro I feel a deep sadness. That acro is currently brown with a tinge of green, tissue loss on tips as well as tissue loss around the base.
Baby is due any moment in the next week or two...I've made up most of my hours at work and decorated the kids room....things are less busy until the baby is born so I am taking the opportunity to get the tank in order again.
Hopefully in a few months time I will be back spending time on the forums like I used to.
I am planning to completely rescape my tank as well. With the growth of the corals I realised I had too many in the tank and water flow became impeded.
I had also collected doubles of corals or corals that I really didnt like too much. So the new scape will concentrate on fewer SPS and easy access to keep growth in check.
I will keep the sump untouched as this contains half of my liverock so as to retain some stability with the system. I wont make any changes until either the acros are healthy again or a friend can accommodate them in his tank.
I havent had a chance to follow all the wonderful build threads I am subscribed too...feels like I have missed out on so much.
During this time I've also realised that as a hobby, reefkeeping is one I could never let go of completely...
I am going to do a sneaky like Bello and Biggles and try to browse RC during worktime. :reading: So you may see a bit of me posting here and there.
