Sps dying off

I have had 2 sps corals die recently, 2 weeks ago I lost a birds nest in just over 24 hours. It started dying from the base up. Then this week I had an acro frag die in about 48 hours. It's a bare skeleton now it was also touching a montapora frag it died too. What can cause these to go so fast. By looking at them they looked healthy and all of a sudden they melt down. All of my water test within normal levels. Zero- ammonia, nitrate, nitrite. SG is 1.024, kh 8. Ph 8.26 mag 1300. No idea what's going on. The only visible problem is some red slime. It has been improving with water changes. Help please!

To start, please describe your system, i.e. size, lighting, filtration, circulation, etc. Also, how long has it been set up?

My tank is a deep 150. I'm running two sumps, 1 refugium and 1 Berlin about 30 gal each. My skimmer is a reef octopus diablo 225. I have a pair of Orphek PR156UV+'s mounted about 18 inches off the surfice. About a 2 inch sand bed. And about 150 lbs of live rock. It's a mixed reef with LPS, SPS, soft corals, 2 clams and 4 small/med sized fish (2 tangs, 2 clowns). Tank has been up and running for about 3 years. I kalk dose and I use RO/DI from a new SpectraPure maxcap 180 gpd. I'm back on weekly water changes. Multiple wave makers on controllers.

I have three reef tanks, the oldest is about 5 years old. A 55 with mainly soft corals and a 57 rimless with mainly LPS corals. It's been frustrating 5 + years with many problems, and mistakes. So my success has been limited. I tend to loose colors in my sps's. I Have seen good improvement in the last 7 months in my tanks since I started dosing kalk until lately. I had a day where I woke up and found fish dead in all three tanks. Only the clowns survived. It's getting harder to justify the expense to my wife. With this many failures. Twins on the way so money will get tighter.
