What is everybody feeding their sps corals?

Kind of food? Liquid?freezdried?Frozen?
Time of day? Lights on/off?
How often? Daily? Weekly? Mulitple times a day?
Target feeding?

What are your results?
Have you tried something that works ok? but then tried something else and it works better?

Ive been feeding reef nutrition oyster feast. My sps have colored up nice since dosing. I do 2ml 3x a week in 100gal

I use dr g's oyster eggs mixed with freeze dried cyclopeeze. Every other day. I feed a little to the tank to get everybody awake, once their feeding tentacles are out I spot feed about 10 minutes later. I do this every other day. Then on mondaysmi feed heavily with frozen reef feast by dr g's and the oyster eggs, freeze dried cyclopeeze and spectrum pellets. But then later in the day I do a water change. I do this every week. Corals have excellent growth, excellent polyp extension and new frag are coloring up nicely. I was/am battling the redbugs but since dipping the affected corals all seems well. Still might treat with interceptor just to be sure. But that will take some planning.

This should answer all your questions.

By the way I feed pappone
“Papponeâ€Â Recipe – Italian Coral Food (Updated 1/14/2007)

Materials:
5 Oysters
5 Mussels
5 Clams
5 Shrimp (NOT cocktail shrimp, the big scampi type w/o the head and the shell)
1 Tablespoon of Sugar (not corn syrup, etc.)
200 mL of RO/DI water
10 g of Red Algae (Palmaria palmata; Bisck uses Julian Sprung's brand)
and/or 10 g of Spirulina, 10 g of Nori (spirulina is what Bisck prefers)

Methods: Make SURE that all ingredients are the freshest possible and DO NOT use frozen foods (unless it is impossible for you). Make sure everything "live" is rinsed and cleaned before putting it into the blender. Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend for 5 min, wait 2 min for it to cool, 5 more min blending, 2 min of waiting again, then finally another 5 min of blending (the pausing is so that the solution doesn't get too hot and "cook" from the heat of the blender/blades). Pour into cube forms (approx 10 mL each). Then freeze it all—you want to minimize how long everything is at room temperature.

Procedure: One hour prior to turning off your lights, you have the option of adding Amino acids to the tank*. (For example, 11pm Halides off, add AA’s, 12am, actinics off, then add pappone). Take off the cup of your skimmer, but leave the skimmer running (so you don’t have a massive drop in O2 levels overnight). After the lights are off, start with only a ¼ of a cube per WEEK for every 400 L of tank water (approx 100 gallons). Be sure to measure NO3 and PO4 the next morning so that these parameters don't spike after feeding. You can reduce the amount fed if you are having nutrient problems. Also don’t forget to put the skimmer cup back on the next morning before the lights go back on.

*If everything is going well. It is good to wait and see how the tank is doing for awhile before trying this. The whole point here is that you don't want to change anything too fast, because nothing good happens quickly in this hobby. (Another method to grind up amino acid pills in the next batch of food; however Bisck found that it sometimes causes diatom outbreaks in his tank

I have a random pile of supplements. I usually add one ml per night and later ate them. Things like fuel, pohls, coral vitalizer (1-2 drops), oyster eggs, etc. I also add reef roads to my frozen food. Even then, still no algae. I'll keep doing it until I see some. Colors are pretty darn rich. I'm like a mad scientist.....or cook depending on how you see it, LOL!

I started the prodibio program and simply love it and now with reef booster I am getting insane color and PE like never before.

I do pappone also and also zeo supplements like coral vital
I also add live fresh hatched brine shrimp at night sometimes

That was one of the funniest pictures ive seen on reef central in a long time. Trueblackpercula do you have a build thread I see that your extremely active on these boards. (sorry for the side track) Anyways I use to feed BRS Reef Chilli with coral frenzy in the past... I notice major PE when using these foods even in the day but in terms of growth I didnt notice a big difference. Then again back then I didnt pay attention to my growth either :)

i just feed fish and add pohls xtra and sponge power once a week. occasionally i will feed some reef Chile.

I'll usually add a tsp of Oyster Feast the day prior to water change. I can't say that I've noticed a difference. Sometimes I'll spot feed, but I usually just mix it with some tank water and pour it in.
