Sps feeding...??

when you say feed sps ... you mean rotifer, ciclopeeze, microplankton, artemia and things like this? or ...??? How often?

Anything that'd be considered zooplankton will work. I found different feeding response from feeding different varieties of food all at once, different sizes will be eaten by different species depending on their polyp structure.

I was feeding Cyclopeez, Reef Pearls, Tropic-Marin Zooton, rots, DIY food, and ZEO mulm twice a day with the return pump off. The corals went absolutely gaga for it. But, it does take a hell of a toll on your filtration to be able to keep up such feeding...

+1 on the zooplankton, whatever form that may be. I've had good luck with Reef Nutrition's Roti Feast and Oyster Feast as well as Reef Chili. I tend to feed once or twice a week.

Look for CORAL FRENZY. I started using this stuff about 2 months ago and my sps have started growing faster than I have ever seen and the color looks fantastic. I think you can find it on Marinedepot or Dr Foster & Smith

I prefer to have more fish and feed them well. Every time I've tried Oyster Feast or other SPS foods my skimmer would shut down for days sometimes and them my corals would ultimately feel the nutrient spike. I like to feed foods rich in protein which eventually work their way to the corals through fish poop and tank looks better and fish seem fat and happy.

I feed my sps Rotifers and oyster feast. They will eat copepod larvae as well. I'm not a fan of cyclop-eeze unless feeding it to my Lps. My sps seems to rearly catch them and when they do they can't digest it

ok, thank you guys, but the problem is Im from spain, and it´s difficult to find some of these stuff... I´m going to look for some zooplanckton in any form jeje...

You should be able to get the dried stuff like, Tropic Marin Zooton or Coral Frenzy.

I've been researching and debating the same thing for a while now. I currently feed rod's food which does the job, but I want to take it to the next level.

My ordeal is wether to use live or dried food. I'm interested in Reef Science live rotifers/copepods on ebay, and possibly RN rotifeast/oyster feast. I'm also interested in coral frenzy.

decisions...decisions...

Decapsulated, newly-hatched artemia nauplii (baby brine shrimp) are a great food as well.

Whatever you feed, as with any new change to your tank, I recommend to go slowly, then ramp up the feedings as you see fit. It's all about balancing the nutrients in your tank.

Also, it can be beneficial to feed a few hours after lights out, as that's when sps corals typically feed in the wild (and thus the longer polyp extension).

Cheers
Mike

Well, it seems that I can get Oyster Feast of Reef Nutrition ... Anyone used it? Is it worth it? Have you noticed any change since you use?
