sps fighting

I'm wondering how close I can put sps to each other I ran a search but can't get a good thread if you can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated

I could be wrong seeing as I have never kept SPS (yet), however i do not beieive that SPS have as much of an effect on each other like LPS do. Also from my understanding they dont have those long sweeper tentacles like LPS corals, so you can place them considerably closer. Correct me if im wrong please.

They seem chemically amicable compared to softies, and seem to get along in fair proximity, unlike lps, like about the diameter of a fist from center of one to center of another. I am not, however, gluing my frags to structural rocks, or at least, not every one: that way I can reposition after growth determines needs.

Depends a lot of on the species in question. Some corals will sort of grow around eachother--intertwine even--to avoid any severe competition. Other corals will clean out huge swaths by various means. Maybe refine which corals you're talking about or it would be impossible to give you any idea what to expect.

I have 2 sps next to each other the one is growing into the other. I would say that the one is growing into the other and the pattern is like what a frag would look like when encrusting its
base. Just encrusting a base on the other coral. The other coral that is being grown over has a constant slime blob about a inch hanging around the war zone.

They are both frags from my tank and were mounted about 2 inches apart. My suggestion is not to mount them much closer than 6 inches from each other. This should give a nice span for a colony to grow.

I kept acro together w/ no problem, monti. often burned & loosed and manage to grow around it,( COMPITING FOR SPACE), they grow massive and block any light for the acros.Ocasional pruning is a must. PEACE

depends on the species. I have a type of plana that has sweeper tentacles...and I keep it away from all others. Other than that I just make sure that they can't touch. But I'm sure there are other types of sps that have sweepers as well...
