SPS Frag update pics

thanks for all the nice comments guys! hope you all like the pics.

and yes that does seem to be the australian delicate... all the pictures on google look like it as well. thanks for that :)

can anybody identify the last neon green/yellow one i posted?

Wow, some awesome SPS collection. Other than GAC and GFO, what is the filtration on this tank? Do you have a fuge/refugium/scrubber? What salt do you use?

Can you also post an FTS? Thanks. :)

Thanks! I don't use any gac or gfo actually, I used to but decided to turn it off one day to see what would happen. Things were pretty much the same and colors improved, so I decided just to keep it off. :hammer: All there is is a swc 160 skimmer. I do have a small fuge with around 2 inches of sand and a small amount of chaeto. The chaeto grew well originally then died off after a while. I keep two mexican turbo snails in the fuge and thats it.

I use tropic marin pro reef salt :) I will post a fts soon let me go find one haha

Thanks for sharing the eye candy. The pic of them all sitting on the frag rack is awesome. I can't wait to get back into sps again.

Thanks guys!! The ATI lights are really doing some work! Currently I have

B+
C+
Gieseemann super actinic
B+,
B+
ATI Actinic
Purple plus
B+

How does that look to you guys? I am thinking 2 actinics might be too much, thinking of adding another coral plus in there....

I'd add another C+ in place of one B+ and place the P+ more central.

In a few months sell some frags to fund a reefbrite or two and really have an awesome light. :)

Thanks, you don't think that might be too little B+ though? Just wondering the thought behind it :) I think I will move the P+ to one of the middle 2 B+ and replace that slot with the C+. That should be pretty even.

Yeah I am thinking of getting a reefbrite actinic but I am not sure whether the ati would be uneven if I decide to only get one...

The C+ has a big portion of the blue-green part of the spectum.
3 B+
2 C+
1 P+
2 Actinic

should cover the full range of spectrum very nicely. 3B+ and 2Actinics should cover the violet-blue-green spectrum pretty well and be plenty of light in that range for the fluorescent pigments.

The C+ covers the fluorescent portion, but also helps the reflective pigments.

To be honest, your colours are very good, so obviously its working for you...and IME its the water quality and coral nutrition that is far more important than tube combo.

Great work on your part in any event; that pink lemonade looks stunning.

Great looking corals! Really Beautiful.

I saw that you're not running GFO and your chaeto died off a while ago. Do you know what your phosphate reading is? And if it's in the 0.00 to 0.05 range, what do you attribute your low levels without traditional P04 lowering methods to?

2 Actinic out of 8 total!!..... Maybe I should follow:idea: So far I only use one Actinic out of 8 total..

Any special reason using Gieseemann super actinic?

Wow!! Amazing new shots. Colors are great!
Looking forward to watching your tank grow out.

Thank you! I will be sure to post more as the corals grow out :)

Thanks sahin, I will go ahead with the extra C+. It has only been a few weeks since I have changed from the radions to the ATI, and the color change has been very noticeable. Crazy how good the t5s are at coloring up sps! I can only hope my SPS are as colorful as yours one day!

You have some beautiful pieces... I'm really digging the pink lemonade

Thank you! The pink polyps only came recently with the ATI lights :)

My gfo for a long time was measing at 0 with hanna but I have been battling dinoflagellates for months now which I think took up a lot of the PO4. I just started dosing fauna marin dinox which has killed a lot of it, I still have a week or two left in the regiment before all of it will be gone though. Hard to say what my PO4 will be like in the coming weeks/months. I am pretty new to the hobby only started last year around this time so I honestly don't really know what I am doing. Just trying things out right now, I am sure things will be changing a lot soon once all the algae is gone. Once I stop the dinox treatment I will probably be buying some more chaeto and continue running gfo lightly to keep it low but not at 0.

A friend recommended me the Giesemann because it was a bit more dark blue than the ATI, that's really the only reason haha. Again I have only had the ATI up a couple weeks, still experimenting with everything. I love your tank and have been following your build for a while. My family is also from taiwan and I go back there pretty often. I live in the yangmingshan area in taipei, are you close to there at all?
