Hi, very glad to find this forum.
I have got some 10 different frags of nice branching colorful SPS frags. Never had SPS before, and really do not want them to brown up or die. Please help with quick tips how to keep them healthy.
I have a 120G established tank with 30G sump. 2x 250W MH phoenix 14K HQI. About 100 lb live rock.
params are:
salinity 1.025
Ca 420
Alk 9
Mg 1100
pH 8.2
Nitrate 20
There are two big tangs in the tank, yellow and powder brown. I feed them dry food (formula one) twice a day and nori.
There is a substantial algae bloom on sides and back glass. Caulerpa in sump growth slowly (12 hrs day reversed photoperiod).
I am changing it to chaeto. No phosban reactor. Should I get it? I am planning bionic supplement and Mg supplement.
What will it take to sustain SPS in good health without browning them?
Thanks!
