Sps question

I have a couple acros that the polyps only open at night. This didn't used to be the case. One of them is a Tyree pink lemonade that used to have hella long polyp extension for like the first 6-8 months I had it, but now it only has polyp extension at night. The colors are still as bright as ever and it's still for sure growing but during the day the polyps are closed up tight. It's been like this for over a month now. My water is good and I've been keeping a close eye out for any pests but haven't seen any. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Nope, but I do have 1 dwarf angel and 2 blennies (starry and bi-color) that were in there long before. I did add a melanurus wrasse the other day but the polyp issue started way before that.

keep your eye on that dwarf angel...sometimes they like to go over and give the acro's a little kiss....acros don't like that and can sense trouble a brewing....they will close all day from just a couple small pecks.

As far as lighting goes I'm running 3 100w onyx rapid led's. Now that I think about it I did put those acros in my tank when I had only 2 of the led's with a couple t5 HO instead of 3 led's. could they be adjusting and if so about how long should it take?

My blenny was not obvious about it. It was a bicolor. I finally got a chance to watch the tank for a good hour and he was chomping on all sps. Montis in particular must have been extra delicious. Little bastard...

I would literally have ate him once I saw him do it.

LOL! Not a bad idea if he's the one causing issues. So for now I'm setting up a 30g half cylinder to put all of my sps in. Hopefully they will start to have the polyp extension they use to. That sucks If it turns out that it is the fish stressing the corals, I get so frustrated trying to get a fish out of the tank.

I had beautiful pieces of pokerstar, sunset and some other unknown pieces that lost all polyp extension. The sunset may be gone for good, but I'm remaining optimistic. He completely ignored my digi for some reason. Once I saw it chomping on my Cali tort he was a goner. Hopefully the pieces recover as the pokerstar in particular is one of my faves. Oh well....lesson learned
