I'm looking for recommendations on adding SPS to my tank. I'd like input on which SPS are considered the least challenging/demanding. Yeah I know they all are more difficult than softies and most LPS, but of all the SPS which do you recommend as the easiest to start and get experience with????

Tank is 75 gal with 20g sump. Lighting is Nova extreme Pro (6 T5's with individual reflectors).

I have the same question. I'm glad someone has asked. I can't really ask any of the LFS what they would recommend since I made some LPS purchases that I came to realize was not a good buy.

I have the same lighting on a 55 gallon tank of mine. I first went with a neon green monitpora, a tricolor acropora, and a batch of random sps frags from GARF. Everything did well despite my neglect. Just remember to keep them on the upper third of the tank with a bit of current or they won't grow well

Birdnest corals are pretty hardy and quick growing...especially the ora green and tubs purple polyp. Monti caps are also very forgiving and fast growers.

My first sucessful sps was a montipora cap, grew like 3 inches around in the first two weeks. I also dropped it and broke almost half it off and grew right back. Like mentioned above, very forgiving is right. Highly recommend them.

Birdsnest and Monti Cap are easy to start with, and they grow fast. Make sure you can remove them down the road as you gain experience and want to try something more exotic.
