Other than the sump damage, which you didn't explain to us, it isn't beyond repair. Plumbing is somewhat difficult at times, but your setup isn't complicated so it shouldn't too discouraging.

What was leaking exactly? And if it was a threaded fitting, teflon paste works better than teflon tape.

I was trying to unscrew the pump from the bulkhead attached to the sump and i pulled too hard and snapped it..

While the sump is under observation, i will probably hang the lights..ive been procrastinating..

Between the sump and the pump, you need a union. That will allow you to unscrew it without pressure on the plumbing, and extract the pump. For an external pump, you'll want a union before and after the pump.

Even better would be a double union ballvalve. Those things are expensive, but so nice.

Good point Marc,

Building plumbing for long-term durability/ease of maintence is more costly but easily worth it.
