SPS Solana

This tank is flat out sick. It has a real "less is more" feel to it, with that smaller pile of live rock versus what most people would do. I like it..... I like it a lot.

What kind of evaporation are you getting? Hard to keep it cool? I would think crazy with open top and that big boy light.

Do you have a picture of how you attached the Lamptree to the stand? Like a side/back shot of the tank? I have some of this equipment so I'm trying make my solana look sleek, i love how the sunpod and lamptree look together!

you are incredably organised - lot of really good ideas - I may just have to borrow the mix station method.

couple of quick questions...

1. did you do anything with the back of the stand? just thinking that it would be a heating pad for the tank if there wasn't good circulation around all the electrical equipment, mainly the ballast i guess.

2. do you have circulation pumps in the reservoirs (fresh, cal, & alk)?

Thank you everyone! and sorry that I haven't replied in so long. I am getting ready to graduate in a couple of weeks, preparing to move, and start my job on January 12th, so it has just been crazy latley. Anyway, here are a few updates and answers to your questions...

- Switched to a Ushio 20k bulb from the Phoenix 14k
- Added a green bubble tip anemone
- Most corals are growing well!
- I still need more fish, but Im waiting till I move
- Sorry I dont have more details on the mixing station at this time
- I have no circulation pumps in my reservoirs
- The 5.5 gallon top-off reservoir last 2 weeks
- Sorry I dont have pictures of the back of the stand/tank...I can tank some in a few week when I move though

Here are a few updated tank shots (its not that blue in person)...

Thanks for your patients everyone!

Do you know how to white balance your camera? might want to try that next time (take this as a pointer ) don't take it as a critic

Pics will come out better.

Felix-

Nice set up and very clean too.

How do you like the Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper 2 controller? Pondering on getting one for my tank.

Any updates on the tank, photos?

Thanks and great job,
Alex

One of the most well-designed modular under-tank builds I've seen! Nice use of what little stand is under the Solana!

On your 70, is the middle compartment (lit by the light) a fuge or a frag tank?

Schweet!

Wow, I want my tank and equipment to be this clean!
I have a lot to learn though, I don' t know half of what is in that mixing station, and not sure what any of those chemicals are for.

This is an amazing setup here.

JGross, can you give some details on your saltwater mixing station and some schematics of your setup under the stand?
