SPS STN from bottom up

I dipped the base rock of one of my acros in bayer insect killer. I believe there is a thread on reef central about this stuff. Anyway, I dipped it in this and of course poured what remained thru a coffee filter with nothing unusual found.

I used Revive. The little worms I have live in the superglue on the plug. They enter and exit between coral and glue. I can actually pick up a frag and watch them slither through under there like they are stuck in glass.

Yes my sixline will eat them too. Only problem is they are nocturnal and he sleeps at night.

i have never been able to see anything either day or night. my tank is loaded with wrasses as well. i have a melanarus, yellow coris, leopard, divided or blue star, orange back and tricolor fairys, and a volarik wrasses. i dare a pest to try and make it in my tank. lol

Nice assortment of wrasses there boss. Have u witnessed any sliming at the base of any colonies before all this started?

I've heard of some bacteria that cause Sps to rtn . Kinda like a virus that can spread from coral to coral.I do not know of any names of strains or if it's just an urban legend.

little update,

I think my red and green planets are gonna make it as I'm finally convinced that they are indeed healing and growing. It's not just me seeing what I want to see. I'm still not at this point yet with my bonsai, but it does appear that it may be starting to heal. my joe the coral, pearl berry, strawberry lemonade, banana lokani, some other deep water acro; these corals were on the decline but have recovered. I lost so many pieces, but loosing my Hawkins hurt.

A couple possible solutions: this was changing my dosing schedule. I spread it out over a longer period of time, which gave me more stability especially with the alk.

I stopped dosing kalk in my topoff and raised the calcium part of TWO PART to equal the alk part. This was instituted about two weeks ago.

I started feeding live phyto plankton every 3 days for the last month. I had great polyp extension throughout this entire experience. I figured since the polyps were out I might as well feed them. I also dosed fuel with the phyto. My NO3 was very close to 0 before and during the heavy feeding, but I would expect no less with an established biopellet reactor.
My PO4 didn't get over .07(hanna). I doubled up on phosguard and have got it back to .05 as of today

i plan on posting to this thread atleast a few more times to log the complete recovery, and a few thoughts along the way. it is really difficult to believe my saga is over. i don't really what my problem was or which fix worked. i am fairly certain there were no pests involved. a respected local club member told said to me "brent sometimes you can't explain these things". i guess this was one of those times he was referring to.

I would like to post pics for you guys but all i have is an iphone 5c and with my led lights the pics come out crazy blue.

My phos got up to .18 which stopped the corals from growing and Alk shot up to 10, then the change to remove phos and lower the Alk is further stressful. Then it seems a 30 day manifest period where every expensive acro stns and rtns. If I see stn during this time I frag or move to different system.
