squamosa growth

I have had my 4 x 4" squamosa for about 6 weeks and one is showing what looks to be nice white scute growth. New scutes have grown about 3/4 ". The other clams have only about half of that in new growth. How does this shell growth compare with squamosa's in your tank or in the wild for that matter?
 
This is a good growth rate.The fastest growing -and 'easiest' clam to maintain,IME, is T.derasa...with T.squamosa in close second place.
 
I've heard others say that they get constant growth from their clams. Mine seems to grow in spurts:

I guess I need to monitor my CA and ALK more consistently?
