Squamosa vs Derasa

65 gallon high tank, 250 watt halide, i want a clam, a very large one to go right in the middle and take up as much space as it possibly can (if you havent noticed, i like clams).

Anway, the base footprint is 36x18. I want this guy to be the main display of the tank.

Im just torn between the two, derasa, or squamosa.

The tank is peninsula style, with two rock structures and a valley running through it, in the valley shall lie a clam lol. It will be put vertically (if looked at through the top) so it'll have 18" space to grow, if it ends up growing bigger, i could put it horizontally.

Derasa will get bigger than a squamosa. The color patterns in the squamy can be much wilder though.

My 12" derasa

I'm sure they can but not sure where you would find one. thanks.

I like the patterning on the Squomosas better in most cases, but each clam is different. Deresas seem to do better in deeper water.

IMO I have both and they both have their own beauty but if you are looking to fill a big space I would go with a Derasa. Check mine out below.
