Squaretail Bristletooth Tang

Came across this fish and I think it is pretty cool. I have read that they only max at 6 1/2 inches although most tangs do not reach full size very often. Anyway it says that they don't bother fish or sessile inverts and also readily except many types of food. Can this fish be kept in a RSM 250? I am not set on it or anything I am just looking for a centerpiece fish for the future when my tank is ready for fish. Just looking for opinions. I am also looking at a few wrasses and some anthias.

Yeah I think the consensus is No! I just can't think of good colorful and different centerpiece. Everything else in the tank is going to be small. I just wanted that one stand out fish that not everyone had.

LA has a 70 gal min tank for those guys, hard to say when its a cube. I want to think the vertical swim space makes up for the horiziontal but im not sure.

With the bristletooth I might depending on the rockwork. My tomini never swims out in the open, always working around the rock looking for morsels. Mt zebrasoma tang is a more out in the open swimmer, but not really full boar like an acanthus tang.

I think this could work, but my make the tang more prone to aggression due to territory.

+1, but be aware you are pushing minimum tank size. With tangs it might not just be that they are "unhappy," but the resulting aggression. Have you considered a dwarf angel?

I will take everyone's advice and look at something different! I am a fish freak and the last thing I want to do is kill a beautiful fish because I was selfish. Thanks for the advice. I'll take a look at small reef safe wrasses.
