From other threads that Ive seen with your tank size the 3000 will be perfect. When you get up around 300 gallons I would go with the 5000. Im pretty sure that mojo (skimmer guru) compared the two and didnt think the cone performed any better.
I have a SRO 3000 int on my 120 gallon with 60 gallon sump, heavy bio load it works well but I am shopping at the moment I would like a nicer main skimmer and use the SRO as a backup. bonuses I can see with it is a replacement pump or part would be a lot faster to get in case of an emergency. I don't like that its next to impossible to clean the base chamber. Also I don't like that the screws on the pump are starting to rust after about 4 months of use.
