standard 3-prong plugs as ballst quick disconnects?

Just bought a heavy duty extension cord for ballast cable. Any reason I can't use the male/female plugs as quick disconnects?

you could use them but make shure you put the female end on the ballast or you may plug in the wrong end to the wall.

also make sure you wire it correctly - if you cross wires, it may not be properly grounded

As long as you wire correctly you will be fine.

1) The cord is not likely rated at the proper voltage for ballast to bulb connection.

2) The plug is not likely rated at the proper voltage for ballast to bulb connection.

3) YOU may know what the plug is for, but that does not mean that somebody else will. I.E. using a standard 3-prong plug/receptacle is not a good idea.
