Back awhile ago we were discussing turkey basting the rock to put particles in suspension. Some were saying that they would put the baster in a hole and squirt the water "into" the rock and seeing detritus coming out. I ask this, wouldn't this forced water disrupt the denitrifying layers within the LR, as disrupting a DSB would?
I was asking that question as I alway's wondered about it. The answer's were getting detritus out any way is beneficial. But it does seem logical to me. One thing I can say is I never had a problem doing it. Disturb a DSB and that's a whole other story.
