Starfish?

I am in process of setting up reef tank. I am curius about starfish. Are there any recomendations for a peaceful? Interesting starfish to add.
Can they be part of coc to be first added to tank

A small serpent star would fit the bill. After your tank has been established for several months there are plenty of others to look at

Once your tank is established a fromia starfish would be a good one to consider and tend to be out in the open more than brittle or serpent starts in my experience.

Brittle stars are in most cases rather easy detrivores, though some of them can also be predators.
Unfortunately the reef safe sea stars (starfish is a incorrect common name since they are no fish) are very delicate and by no means easy to keep. Most are very specialized in eating bacteria films, so a mature and large enough tank is required.
Another issue with them is wrong handling anywhere on the way between the ocean and your tank. The thing they really handle badly is being out of the water and exposed to air.
