Anthony, i have 4 radium bulbs approx 3 months old... If you want to give it a try... stop by next weekend. You can have it for free. BTW, one of them is only a month old.

thanks steve I will do that. My stand, canopy and sum have arrive so I need to work on the plumbing this weekend. I'm using the 20k radium right now and I like it. The bulb is about 4 to 5 months old so I want to swap out so the new bulb intensity will not be too much for the corals. I read Acopora nut TOTM and he praise the reeflux bulb so I want to give it a try.

I will post some picture of the stand, canopy and sum later. Now I'm still shock at the size of the stand and sum....:eek1:

BTW this sum can hold 2 skimmer and my zeovit reactor with no problem....:D 48''L X24''D X20''T 100 gal

here are some picture of the stand, canopy and sum

Nice.... Look like Socal creation work of art.... I will keep the 4 bulbs for you.... I used to run reeflux 10k on PFO HQI ballast.... I like the color spectrum, grow and my blue and purple pop like crazy...

Anthony, on your zeovit reactor the top screw make sure you drill the hole all the way through to avoid slipping and sliding when you stir...

thanks steve yeah this sum is so nice I don't even want to drill any hole. Nice polish acrylic will be hard for me to keep it clean. I use the filter sock just to prevent salt creep to the wall of the sum also keep the bubble and noise down.

hmmm, why don't you try the Nanook style :). Instead of using the bulk head. You can use an elbown and the tee with the end cap on top. Will helps to reduce noice and bubble... I learn that today from Nook's build thread...

Dave, please don't banned me for stolen your picture :). It is hard to explain

I try to minimize hose and pvc under the stand. Since I have close loop, chiller, may be UV and frag tank to plumb so I need to make sure I have the most efficient routing otherwise It will look like a submarine.

ok steve we can talk more when the tank deliver. Pizza, wings and beer will be waiting for you....:-)

ok pasto salad for you then....I own chicago pizza next to southcoast plaza so food will be no problem

thanks Jonathan. Now come the headache part, plumbing. Do you recommend to put a white Styrofoam between the tank and the stand? Also between the stand and the floor should I put a rubber mat like Dave(nanook) tank?

All depends on what you have got. What is the floor material?

As far as the tank goes, I always look to level out and insulate my tanks from the surface they are resting on, but, you MUST follow the tank manufacturer's instructions. Some insist you put down foam, some insist you don't. And with a sweet starphire, you don't want to void your warranty.

the tank is on a laminate wood floor. Below the laminate wood floor is solid concrete. I don't know what is the manufacture recommend since it's not here. I like the rubber mat idea since it will reduce some vibration from the pump and make it last noisier.

Thats 6 ft starfire is gonna be amazing best of luck and ill be watching

Thanks for visit my thread. Actually the tank is 7' long 84''L X 30"D X24"T. My first big tank so I need all the help I can get.

Well, water is definitely not the friend of laminate. Do you already have the stand in place or can you cut out the floor and install tile?

The rubber mat is a good idea but it won't stop water flowing off. Probably a better idea would be to build in a catch-all inside the stand. You can create some kind of rubber or plastic tray that everything sits in and has a good 3 - 5" lip.

But seriously, I have laminate under my FW Planted tank, and all it takes is one little spill and the mark is there forever. I would remove the laminate and install something else. Even garage flooring, hard rubber gym mat, would be much better. A nice tile that has a wide margin around the tank base would be excellent and even add some interest, and if you remove the flooring carefully at its natural seams, you might be able to replace it if and when you decide to move.

well I will follow Joe(JBNY) procedure. I will put couple towels when I play with the reef tank. I will put a rubber mat inside the stand to catch spill like Mike(Duester). This tank is in the sun room so the laminate floor is not that expensive to replace.

well some progress today my handiman run 2 x 20 amp outlet and he also cut the hole for my close loop. ETA for main tank arrival is Thursday Nov 15,2007. All of the plumbing part have arrive. I love the cepex ball valve.

some pictures of the ball valve and schedule 80 fitting
