Starter help

I'm looking to graduate from a 55gal FOWLR to a 70 or 90 gal reef ready setup. I would like to get some recommendations on skimmers and good choices for starting a reef system.

What types of corals and inverts would be the best to start with? Also, my LFS recommended power compacts to start at about 4-5 watts per gallon - does this sound right?

Any help would be appreciated!

Depending on what you are going to want to keep you may want to consider a different choice for lighting. MH is a better choice for having higher light needing corals.

Think about flow, the more the better. Do you want to use a closed loop system or powerheads.

For a skimmer you should research what type is going to fit your needs the best, recuiculating, beckett, downdraft etc.
