Yeah my whole experience with Marine Solutions went smoothly, and I love my skimmer. But I still feel bad about recommending them after seeing what Scott is going through.

This is usually par for the course being in Canada and dealing with US companies. Most of them won't even ship or charge extravagant shipping costs because of the customs.

But seeing too threads shut down over msx skimmers makes one realize that this is not the place to have a discussion about "the company" or any company

It seems everyday that more and more people are being banned from ReefCentral, which really sucks cause it is such a great forum for everyone who loves reefing to get together and share all our failures and triumphs so that others may learn from our experience and visa versa... And everyone seems to be tip-toeing around with what they are saying, kinda kills the mood a little, makes it a bit more like a chore than a fun place to share... Maybe they hit user quota and are trying to free up some space for new users, lol... (no offense mods)...

No, that isn't the case at all. This is a family-friendly site that is designed to share information about the hobby. Those that get banned broke the rules in some way usually, either by being aggressive or because they were selling in a way that appeared to be commercial.

Some people don't like being told what they can and can't do. The fact is, every person on RC is a guest and should act accordingly.

Have you checked out Exotic Aquatics. They're less than 20 miles away from you. I bought my Blueline HD100 there. Very nice place. Reef/Marine Tank Specialists....so their business card says.

Don't get me wrong, i'm on your side melev, those that brake rules definitely should be banned, cause as you said, this is suppose to be a family friendly site and there shouldn't be anything on here that makes it not, but I know a few people who were banned for doing something that I didn't read anywhere in the rules, such as liking a different brand of skimmer to everyone else...
I stick to the rules, as i think everyone in the clubhouse does, because I wouldn't want to be banned from this fantastic resource...
Just hoping you didn't think I meant any offense melev. (they need a hug and make up smiley, lol)

I agree but I think the problem lately is it "appears" on line that some members get banned instantly with no prior warning.
eg the case of Luke with 8000 posts and Nanogirl with 5000 posts
Nanogirls was probably closer to home here being one of the clubbies.

I am assuming that these posters due to the contributions made would get warnings by pm's ect. and that banning is just not an instanteous act.

I read where posters have been warned, eg asked to take the argument off line ect. I seen where posters have been warned that there post is a little too argumentative or personal ect.

I am also assuming that these people, as Marc stated ignored the warnings.

Personally I have always found the monitors to be of a support to me--Bertoni has been a mentor since day one, when I thought a poster was in appropriate in their answer to one of my threads--Deb immediatelly removed it when I requested ect ect. You can always joke around with Waterkeeper, Malhavoc has been a great support on posts and Brian D showed alot of patience with me over that tang info thread. Just to mention a few postives to them.

Perhaps coming from you Marc--reassurance that you do get warnings if you step over the line "innocently and unaware" would help here

I read Clowns narrative on what happened with him and Nanogurl. I tend to believe him. he has a nice house, good job, no reason to lie. I don't have both sides of the story, but from my point of view, it wasn't handled well by Reef Central. I have followed RG for years and I do miss her thread. My apologies for the Hijack. Thanks for letting me express my views

I believe NG moved on her own because of problems her BF had been banned for some reason and was not banned herself.
how does it go usually is it a temporary bann for the first few times and then a final ban? if a poster is banned does e usually get the chance to expalin his point of view?Anyway I have been on this site for 7-8 years maybe and I never have had any probs with non of the moderators. on the coutnrary it was always good support from them and loads of other members.
did anyone else get banned recently?

Hey TJ, sorry about that, i didn't mean for my comment to start a discussion within the clubhouse. I agree with TJ, i think if we want to discuss this send a few PM's... I think we would all be extremely upset if the clubhouse thread got removed because of the discussion...

All that matters is that the clubhouse rocks because we all follow the rules and:
