Gi!!! That is what I was searching for...

If a black belt was wearing a Red Spotted Gi, would you make fun of him/her? ;)

Yes, then run........Fast. :D

no, but that would be me two reasons for running away ;)

Got the frags mounted in the tank today. I'll be watching the millepora closely for the next few days, as it has me the most nervous.

Also, I had one rock in my tank that had a clump of hair algae on it... I noticed the tangs picking at the rock today, and realized they had completely picked it clean :eek2:

The water flows from left to right by gravity. The drain is ted off and half goes to the second fuge on the left and the other half to the protein skimmer /sump.
when I had problems with the second fuge and fish food ending up in it---I put another feed on the line so I run flow to each fuge separately. I worked through the cyano problems in the second fuge and have just not bother to use the second line

I think I will however because the macro in the first fuge(the tote) is taken a hit now that macro has really established itself in the the second fuge and its removing alot of phosphates ect from the water column before it trickles into the first fuge
Hey Kar,
I think Capn was reffering to the White PVC feed line with the ball valve to feed the tote and not what you were actually asking. The clear tubing and Tee that you are talking about was answered correctly by Sieldan. The reason it's set up that way is that Capn's Tote fuge was prone to want to overflow. I had a similar issue and found that there was a high amount of backpressure on my drain line and that caused the fuge water level to keep rising and the drain couldn't keep up. by adding the Tee with the tubing above the top of the fuge it eliminated the backpressure by venting the line. I recommended that Capn install one like I did and as far as I'm aware he's never had an overfow since taking my advice..

Another one of 2frosty4u's great ideas

but I have had two overflows since--each time a snail had crawled into the drainage tube

cream angel update
The pajama cardinal is still standing guard--the damsel comes up from underneath them to try and bite the angel but the cardinal comes in between and I have seen it take a shot at the damsel too.
Its the story "Animal Farm" in a reef tank--LOL. Too bad all the others wouldn't just swarm the damsel and kill it.

Hey Capn, What kind of bulkhead did we install in the tote fuge. Was it thread/thread or thread/slip? We'll have to install a strainer inside that puppy so no snails get into the pipe again. You should have said something earlier and we could have fixed that issue already.

I'd rather deal with the thrill of coming down in the basement in the morning to find 5 gal of water all over the place:D
I just didn't think of it at the time. I like your toilet strainer--you should post a pic of it here for the clubhouse guys

thread/thread bulkhead

I need a new camera before I post any pics. They all come out blurrier than my vision after a good night of drinking...lol

you can still save and post pic from others here and the net by right clicking--save as--to your hard drive. then uploading them to photobucket.com and copying and pasting the "img code"

I have an extra digital camera that you can use in the meantime

boy, this is a first--really quiet on the clubhouse thread tonight

i did my tank stuff early then left to do family things tonight, but i came home early and used the underwater glue and was able to fix my baffle, i still left the pvc wedge in place, i want to go at the baffle one more time before taking the wedge out.
i didnt read the instructions and i got a couple of goops of the glue in my return area, so tomorrow i will be syphoning it out.

added a K3 the other night and the bubble coral didnt like its spot anymore, so its been moved again lol

my pulsing xenia has gotten shorter and a fatter base after the new lights, might not like the intensity, been adding an hour or so a night so i am not shocking the corals, tommorow it will be 5 hours a day with all 4 bulbs. i am leaving the attinics on as normal just not the super attinic and the aqua sun.

saw my pistol shrimp tonight for the first time since i got him 2 weeks ago, no sign of my hifin goby since i took the pics been looking for him and spot feeding his favorite spots but no dice yet.

hope thats enough of an update on my end capn lol

No the rock was just a piece of LR near the bottom of the tank in a high flow area ironically. The hair algae was quite thick and long. I'm surprised they took a liking to it. I'm not sure if it is just the tangs, but I have almost no nuisance algae in my display tank anymore :eek2:

I'll post some pictures tomorrow once the lights come on. I'm still only coral scaping on the right side of the tank. It has really become SPS mountain

Do the fish still stay on the right side of the tank? I mean, if they do I can understand why you'd put the corals over there. There'd be no reason to look at the left side of the tank
