O.K. O.K. so I got lucky again. About 3 months ago I went to the PetBox in Naha to try and pick up some styrofoam shipping containers for Taira-san at ACO from the dump at PetBox. Yup, they just throw them away. WEEELLLLL.. While I was garbage picking I moved some of the boxes out of the way and guess what I ended up putting in my van????

YEAH!!!! A 120 cm all glass tank!!! It was thrown away because someone had cracked the bottom. I just took it yesterday to the glass man by Futenma (Jaymil too) and I picked it up today - good as new...7000 yen.

I will take some pics tomorrow of it on the stand. Today I jut worked in shelves in the garage and a bench

This one holds about 55-60ish...I will give you the actual once I get home.

Dude.. that tank is at least 100+ gallons.. mine is a 200Liter(55gal) and its about half that size.

The dimensions are 38x17.5x17.5=11637.5/231=50.37878...gals. Its short but I like it because it's wide.
I will have to sell the all glass tank though. I put water in it yesterday up until the edge of the lower glass and it buckled; the glass bowed some distance. I then realized it was made for a terrarium, not an aquarium. Might ask PetBox to see...or if anyone is interested drop me a PM.

FD, I think you are referring to the "big" tank. the big one is a 130. Luis is referring to the terrarium tank he just picked up.

I foresee a planted terrarium with guppies in the future....

then you are RIGHT!!! That one in the pic belongs to sidewinder770 and reefmaiden - they were the TOTM in Jun/JUL 07 (?) and I have been following their li9nk ever since. But they got married and moved to Texas and sold the tank andd everything else with it. I went to Sangio Friday and found out how much it would cost to get the tank cut here. I will let you guys in on the price if/when it's finalized.
THAT BABY HOLDS 375 GALLONS MAN!!!! (I am getting a gumby when I think about it)...That's why I haven't call ya Jeff, sorry. Not sure if the wall project will be for the 130 gal or the 375 gal!!!
But I still got your box....will check in soon...

If you are doing a 200+ gl tank them it better be made out of acrylic otherwise you will need a beer party to lift it.

:eek1: Well, I'm back. It's ben a while and a lot has happened. So let me start with this!!!!
Picasa to modify pics ~ Shutterfly to post them!!! it's the easiest thing I have done since joining up...

:D

NOTE NOTE NOTE: THIS WAS POSTED ON ANOTHER THREAD BUT SHOULD BE HERE.

I want to sleep  on an asking price of on my 130 gal rig.

The stand cost 200 bucks alone at the PX (cause of the size) and its an AGA 120 inch tank...sweet...narrow, so it fits great up against any reasonable wall. I will throw in a super glass sump/fuge box of your choice ( I currently have two of them) Chaeto, and will definitely help with what I can...I am all about promoting the hobby (obsession actually).

I can tell you (you all) this: It will NOT be $1500. :eek2:

(but his DOES come with a custom stand for a custom tank and holds 20 gals more than my 130...)

I'm tinking $750ish....BUT I need some sleep

:wavehand:

...and another pic if I may...

I was going to set up my 130 in the new place we are renting out. Plan on staying here for about 2 to 3 years to get alittle more studying done so I just decided to do it. However, I came across a deal of a life time and jumped on it like a grenade. Yes, yes, I am building up the suspense until I get a chance to take some pics (with my new camera) of the project. Oh yeah: PROJECT!!!!:eek2:

Let me put it this way: The wife has given up on trying to alk some sanity into me/us ~ Me and myself and I = not stable baby!!!:wildone:

...sigh, sorry for the duoble poets fish shot; wanted to post a full tank shor of my temp 55 gal.

Will do later...

O.K. it's been a while since my last update, but like in my last one; I got a new camera and have been busy. Here are some pics of the beast that I just landed on.:twitch:

It's a 118 inches long by 22 by 24. :bounce1:

Not too tall and it calculated at a little under 275 gals but its a step in my progress to a bigger tank. Some day - a 375~500. NOT ANY TIME SOON THOUGH :eek2:

As you can see, the stand needs some major work removing the rust portions. The price include the tank, stand, and the sump. (pics to follow).

Here is Kinjo-sama helping me remove some plumbing from around it in order to get good measurements and get ready to move the stand out for repairs.

Here is a close-up of the stand and the amount of work that it will need. I already contact the guys at Typhoon motors up at Courtney (they have a weld shop) and they are ready for me to show up with the stand in order to cut off some of it. It is currently 122 inches long and my space for it is exactly 118 inches wide. Hum. They will not let me bust any rust up in there because that is a "body and fender" task and they do that up at Hansen; I ain't goin' to Hansen with this beast in my van...I want it back right away!

O.K. Here is the tank in the shop at Courtney. They knocked it out in about 1 day. I also had them weld on 2x2 cm holed squares on the inside so that I can brace paneling to it in the future.
