Hi, ok tank has been down for a year and I really dont remeber the start up process
filled and put new plumbing sat, looking for air leaks(microbubles) will change water after all leaks are found
how long should tank cycle before live rock should be added? and if anyone has some after this cycle it would be nice to buy some as all i had before was base rock with boat loads of corline alge
reminders are most helpful as this process only happen once in awhile

You should cycle the tank with the LR to get it seeded. Other than that I'd just use some food or a piece of shrimp to cycle it. Then let it sit for as long as you want, the longer it sits the more stable it becomes and more time your pods and other critters have to proliferate. I waited ~10-12mths before I added any livestock to my tank, but I'm an extreme example. At the very least I'd say let it cycle for a mth.
