Starting my BioCube14

Friends,

My BioCube14 is finally set up with dry sand, dry rock, a 3.24 lighting/fan upgrade, an upgraded pump (Rio 600 with a Hydor Flo), a Hydor Koralia Nano, and a nice little heater (Theo 50W).

The tank has been running with the dry sand and dry rock and Instant Ocean mixed seawater (the water from my new RO/DI) for about a month, but I just got the lights set up. Now I'm ready to get a little live rock, or pinch of sand, or cup of water or any combination to seed the system. I had thought about getting some live rock from Westport Aquarium to do this, and get a pinch of sand from one of their nice tanks. The last time I was there it looked like there was a bit of a pest anemone problem. Do you guys have any recommendations, or does anyone want to volunteer their tank to be the "parent" of mine? Also, I'm looking for a bit of cheato for a little fuge I'll be setting up a month or so from now (after the cycle, which will be after letting the new live rock rubble or sand inoculate the whole system).

Yours,
Jason

I have a couple small rocks in my main system I can give you to seed your tank.

Thanks for offering! I have some dry rock that I'll bring and you can pick through it - maybe you'll want to replace what you give me. Give me a ring at 860.543.9491 whenever is convenient for you and we'll arrange a time to meet. May I come over and see the tank too?

You are more than welcome to stop by. I'll give you a ring. Don't worry about the dry rock as I only have a couple of pieces a little bigger than rubble.

I can give you the cheato when you are ready...I live in milford

Very kind of you, Ducho! I'll let you know when the cycling process is through.

Thanks Bobby. Unfortunately I'm going to be late to the meeting (if I get there at all) - unexpected work related stuff. Also the system isn't yet ready for them, I believe.

You guys are a great group!

Jason

Hi We have a biocube14 and we recently bought the 3.24 upgrade. However the upgrade did not come with install instructions. Does any one have the instructions they can share with us ? Thanks Linda
