Starting my first calcium reactor...

I bought a system a few years ago, but never used it. I also bought the Mercedes Benz of bubble controller.
First I have to clean it out and buy the media for it.

Right now the Ca n Alk is low. 399 and 6.9, I still have to test Mag. I gather I have to bring my levels up some and stabilize them with the reactor.
Any advice on the use of the reactor?
