Maybe you just don't know your own strength? I mean, you are a Jar*Head right?

I would even find it a bit surprising that 1mm would do that in the first place. It's not like moguls are tight fits...very strange. So what happened with the business end? It looks like it is somehow cut out? I am confused by what I am seeing in your pics.

They ask me to pay attention while screw in the bulb.... WTH over??? I have been Married for 9 years and having a child didn't i already proof myself. How hard is it to screw in a bulb... Yeah, i cracked 2 of them because i was doing the Jon's thing getting mad and yelling at Nemo...

Alessandro said the socket is 40mm so i measure the socket. It is 40mm at the very top but when it start threading it getting smaller like 37mm. The bulb is 39mm screw it suppose to fit inside but what you see in the picture is the max i can do to get the bulb to fit inside the socket, another turn will crack the bulb...

Here is the explanation i got from Paul Erik who i think is the expert in light and and also the one who i go to every time when i need advice in lighting.

Paul, thank you so much for breaking it down.

E40 is a European or non domestic base which has a metric screw shell treads and a taller porcelain outer shell than a domestic North American E39 base. Generally E40 lamp base lamps can be used in E39 base lamp sockets but E39 lamps may not fit properly into an E40 socket. Some E40 sockets might slightly differ allowing E39 lamps into them but usually is not a recommended combination. You could replace the socket with an E39 base socket or use a European E40 base lamp. Most of the Ushio lamps are an E39 base lamp that are sold in North America. The BLV lamps have an E40 base.

Best regards

Paul Erik Hirvonen

I couldn't find any information out on these Sfiligoi exaggerate pendants. Could anyone explain to me why they are so expensive? Anyone have any links to their info? thanks

So if you switch to BLV bulb a they will fit?

So much for the theory that ushio and BLV are identical..

They are the same company.... I wil look around to see who carry BLV in America. I will order one bulb to try it out.. If that still don't fit, Sfiligoi will receive a big return from me....

Dude, I had the same problem with my XR6. I don't mind paying more for a good product and service. All I can say it - Never again

But $1300+ for a reflector and only two working T5......
Expensive lesson

At least you have the T-5. My pendant is nothing but a reflector and socket... But something still go wrong....

I guess paying for 4 T5 and only have 2 working are better than none :hmm3:

I found that the Radium fit my XR6 socket much easier than the SPS - FWIW

Hang in there.... :strooper:

I must say a guy I know locally has the xr6's with 250wDE bulbs and the reflectors are very nice, I hope you find an easy fix.

I could never understand Sfiligoi's prices. Their stuff looks nice, but it's hard to justify the price. $1300 for one halide fixture is robery. Same goes for their ACLS controllers. I like the concept, but the price is nuts. Lighting is the last thing I plan to buy for my reef. I plan to build my own lighting rack with MH + T5. I figure I can do dimmable T5's by using my Profilux controller... much cheaper than spending $3000+ on some ACLS controllers to dim the halides. I've read about too many issues with these "High End" lighting fixtures... Sfiligoi is not the only one.

well, it's not too much for those that want the look. I understand what you mean, but everyone has a different price point they are willing to pay.

I Will never buy another Sfilgoi product....way too much money for poorly engineered system and by the time you get any help w/ anything you can just about destroy any sense of sanity we all think we may have.

+1 Never again.

Steve I think your system is the way to go but instead of the Sfiligoi I would do like you mentioned earlier and use lumenarcs or comparable.

Good luck....if history repeats itself you are in for a long ride.

ACLS is a great concept if you want to destroy your bulb quicker. From what i understand MH are not design for dimming or running at lower wattage...

I like to control my own destiny :D. I know exactly what you have been through with your Sfiligoi. The reason i chose the Exaggerate because it does not come with any electronic component but who ever thought the damn socket will not fit...

+ 2 for never again....

+1 for poorly engineer my 3 pendants come with 3 different black color and the paint is worse than i spray paint at home...
