I've been keeping maxi mini nems for almost 2 years now and today I spotted something very cool in my tank. I've witnessed my nems spawning before but because I run a skimmer and filters I never gave them being viable a second thought...until today. I was looking at my zoas and spotted something glowing on the rocks right next to them.

I have a baby!

I have a tiny baby maxi mini carpet anemone. It's just slightly larger than the zoas it's living by. I have no idea who mom or dad is because it's a different color than any of my others. Seems to be neon green, yellow and orange. It's at the opposite end of the tank than any of the larger nems so it didn't bud off.

Sorry my pics aren't too good but here it is :)

Thanks for letting me share my excitement - I've never had a baby before :)

Congrats.
Thanks for sharing the info. Good to know they are internal brooder like crucifer. It will be interesting to see if it changes colors as it grows.
