Still can't figure it

Ok, have a pair of snow oynx that lay every 9 days on the money. I still can't seek to get eggs to hatch. Last time they laid was on 11-29-13 eyes turned silver 12-6-13. Same amount of eggs next morning nonne has hatched. 12-8-13 laid next clutch right next to previous clutch. 12-9-13 half had hatched during the day sometime or parent's picked them off. 12-10-13 still have 50+ eggs with silver eye's. What is wrong? Is my room not dark enough? Eggs laid to early? I have been fighting this for 6+ months and still can't get it right.

It needs to be very dark in the room or it can delay hatching.

Could be hard for fry to get out of egg , believe this is caused by extra chitin in diet.

This is my problem they won't hatch. I see batach after batch eggs still in tank parents tending to them unitl the die. I have a batch that is still in parents tank with a new batch laid right beside them. We are now on day 13 and still wont hatch. Eyes on the eggs turn silver on day 7 like clock work. Just wont hatch. Room is dark and I cover it with a blanket. I feed them spectrum pellets. What else should I feed them? Do I need to take this out of there diet?

I know a few people that strictly feed spectrum with no issue. Chitin I believe is found in stuff like shrimp krill, inverts with a shell. Do you ever pull eggs? What happens if left in parent tank ? What temp are you running?

Tank is 81. I have tried pulling pot and let them go. After 13days eggs start to turn milky. There will be anew that last 15 days, but won't hatch. I have also left pot in parents tank with same results.

I just started a new food , made in the UK its called new era algae pellets. Its a really moist food ,not like a typical round pellet , more like a little stick. Just had a pairs nest size go up a bit after feeding it for a couple weeks.

You feed algae pellets? I see that they have aegis pellets as well. Would that be better for them?

Yeah I feed the algae, I make my own frozen so was trying to get some more green to balance out diet. I also have the marine pellets , but my fish don't devour them like the algae pellets. Aegis would prolly do it.

Gonna find a local vendor and pick up some of the algae pellets. I picked up some LRS frenzy frozen food. Gonna change their diet up. Let's see if I can get better results in a few weeks with this diet.

A few people use the rods brand breeders blend as well. I try and vary the diet quite a bit. Keep us posted !

Fish played on 1-15-14 so that is day one, correct? You can now see the reflective eyes on 1-21-14. This would make day seven, correct? Not pulling pot, just gonna try and see if they all hatch tonight. I have changed the fishes diet, has taken a little bit to get them to eat the different types of food.

Update. After changing the diet for two days prior of them laying it resulted in 90% hatching on night seven.

nice! what'd you feed prior and what'd you switch to again?

Was feeding spectrum pellets only. I switched to LRS frozen once a day, S.A. hatchery pellets once a day, and spectrum pellets once sometimes twice a day. Now I have added rods reef breeder blend and will be alternating days with the LRS and I have a dded pellets from reed marine and will remove the spectrum pellets from the diet.
