Your body became the amp load when you got shocked I am sure it is probably dc voltage that goes to that probe. Ampage is just the load of something being used and you became that.

Its the box where switches can be plugged in to trigger certain programs on the apex for instance i have a float switch plugged in on mine and that triggers my ATO pump to turn on.

interesting.....I have to double check my tank & my IO box.

Real quick: to see if any stray voltage is present in the tank, multi meter probe in tank water & then where to put the other one??

Also what setting to put the meter on?

You put the other probe in the GROUND port of your wall outlet or touch it to the metal inside the junction box.

The IO box shouldn't have anything more than 5VDC. That's not enough to feel. If it turns out that the problem is related to the IO box, then there are some serious problems with your controller.

well thats what it was. i think I felt it because I only felt it on like a slit between my nail and finger that I go cut so it was very sensitive but i had absolutely everything unplugged except the 12v power adapter on the apex and I kept my finger in the water and held the wire for the I/O box and unplugged it, the pain went away and plugged it back in and it stung again so i put a ground wire from the ground port on the I/O box into the wall outlet ground and it stopped and I don't feel anything anymore.

The IO box shouldn't have anything more than 5VDC. That's not enough to feel. If it turns out that the problem is related to the IO box, then there are some serious problems with your controller.
