Hello!

I have a couple of Ocellaris about 2 years, and I would like to know if there is any way to stimulate them to breed?

ps: I´m sorry if I wrote something wrong.

Feed them several times a day, but not so much you get excess uneaten food. Mix the foods as well, a combination of high quality dry food and frozen foods. For dry foods, I'm partial to New Life Spectum pellets and Otohime feeds. For frozen, mysis and cyclopeze are excellent. Also giving the tank a good long spring/summer breeding season type photoperiod can help.

all animals are more likely to breed when well fed... thats why animals over the 1000's of years have learn to breed during spring, so months of food would be available.

You might also try flooding the tank with newly hatch brine shrimp, that worked once for me. Also, if you have Joyces book, she has a whole page on things to try... longer lighting, warmer water, ect.

Thank you for the answers!!! I don´t have that book, It´s not easy to find them here in Brazil. If you could tell me some more things about that...

why does feeeding them stimulate?

Producing gametes requires lots of energy and building blocks. As a result they will only "condition" in times of abundant food.

HEAT seems to be key for my pair - they won't even think about laying eggs unless the tank is over 82 degrees.
