I notice a lot of disjointed threads about RTN and STN. What are some best practices, rescue methods, and stories from reefers who have saved a coral that started going downhill with tissue necrosis?

I'm posting because my prized ORA pink birdsnest has started RTN'ing from a particular branch. I raised this coral from the size of my pinky to about the size of two softballs put together.
Two days ago I noticed a branch of it had bleached and RTN'd. All other SPS corals are healthy, including other birdsnest frags and colonies. I snapped off the troubled RTN branch and removed it from the tank. Hopefully this helped, but time will tell. I'm dosing Brightwell Restor, sparingly. I've halted STN on a birdsnest and once on an acropora using Brightwell Restor, but never an RTN event like this.
