At the farm last week we had a whole tray of spathulata decide to die off, it basically just disolved all tissue overnight it was all the same spat from the same colony, whats interesting is a couple of days later that same spat being kept in a backup system 1000 km away also did the same thing this spat and only this spat was effected. My question to all is could this be a genetic floor or illness within the colony.... These frags are almost three months old and were healthy a growing well.

What are ppls thoughts??

thats an interesting observation however, many people including myslef have had one piece of a colony be fine and another piece rtn. so strange. it used to be an alk fluctation idea, then it was bacteria, no one really knows which is a major bummer. i think all sps have the potential to rtn so that ur colony may have been infected which is why they both went. i really wish i could give more info
