stock list for 500g 4'x8'x28"

need some help and some suggestions for a stock list for a new tank , it is 94" long 46" deep 28" tall inside {this is actual water area not tank size}

so far i have the following . these are currently in my 250g holding tank getting ready to go into the big tank in a few weeks . these fish get along very well together .

sail fin tang approx 5-6" hes like 4 yrs old .

yellow tang hes also 4 yrs old

blonde naso about 5" long 1 yr old

lopezi tang about 4" long only had him for 5 months .

niger trigger about 3 " long


pajama cardinals 6 of them

green chromis prob 12 of them

yellow watchman gobie 1

and then a pair of false percs and 1 gold strip clown .



we really like the triggers , and from my readings the redtail trigger and humu humu should do fine with the group .


the tank will eventually have some corals , nothing to advanced , just some soft corals / mushrooms / etc , simple stuff .

the tank also has alot of caves , hiding spots , it is very well laid out where fish can hide , but also alot of room in the front where they can swim in the open .

any advice ?

Quoyi Parrotfish, stays under 11-12'' full grown.

You need a couple angels... A French angel can look amazing in a tank that large but I'm wondering if it's too shallow at 28" for a French.... A queen angel at full size is stunning and would be happy in your tank

+1 to the Quoyi parrotfish, love mine. I'm a tang and angel addict so I would suggest more tangs like a purple, Achilles, Tomini, orange shoulder. As far as angels I would pick 2 or 3 dwarf angels you like and a majestic and or emperor would be a nice addition

Is the quoyi aggressive toward angels or butterfly?

My Quoyi is very peaceful towards everyone. They are really beautiful and personable fish if you are able to find one.

Watch the triggers with those smaller fish.

its all acrylic , i built it myself 1" thick . i will never do that again , but i have a build thread over in the large tank section .

Quoyi parrotfish are docile and not aggressive toward any of my fish ranging from wrasse and green chromis to tangs and angels
