I'm considering mangroves and really want a diverse refugium. This is the first step in upgrading my system and would like some suggestions on how to stock the new fuge..... Currently I plan on:

1. 20 mangrove plants
2. Ordering BillsReef starter kit

Any other suggestions? Take a look at this beautiful empty 180 gallon refugium waiting to be populated.........:D (8 inch sand bed)

By the way please post pictures of your refugiums...... I am welcome to new ideas.....

Thanks for the help and suggestions......:D

My suggestion would be to use eggcrate and divide your refuge. One section for your mangroves, one section for racemosa, one section for caulerpa prolifia, one section for chaeto. This will keep each macro algae separate and make it easier for you to ensure they have enough light and you can prune when they need it. They will all grow at different rates and the fastest growing one will overgrow the rest, otherwise. The sections with the floating macro algae (racemosa and chaeto), I would half fill with living rock (the more rock, the better) and let the algae float above this.
