Stocking a 450 Suggestions

Well my 450 (123x28x30) should be showing up in 2 weeks or so. Sump is roughly 190 gallons (93" long).

Looking to have a mixed reef.

So far the fish I've thought of are as follows:
Sohal Tang (Last added)
Achilles Tang (Second to last added)
Purple Tang (Added first)
Yellow Tang (Added first)
Yellow Bellied Blue Tang (Added first)
Black Ice Clown (Added first)
Crosshatch Trigger (Added third to last)
Potter's Angel
Few Chromis (4-5)
Few Anthias (3)
Various Reef Safe Wrasses (4-5)
Some sort of sand sifter (???)

Can anybody add any other suggestions?

Would like reef safe(ish) fish, better if they can help out with cleaning algae, rock pests, sift sand, etc...

Thanks guys

I would add Achilles, sohal and purple tang together since they are all aggressive.

Fairy wrasses are very colorful addition
You can have as much as want.

Also if you want chromis they do well with group of 20 or more

Good idea with the Sohal and Achilles. I have multiple QT tanks, guessing the 40 would be fine for the Sohal, 55 for the Achilles.

Want to add the Purple with the Yellow (Which I already have).

Would 20 chromis add much bio-load? Want to keep it down, don't want too many fish in the tank. Like it clean with a few fish I really like.

Get 10 anthias and ditch the chromis

For fairy wrasse
Rhomboid
Flame
Lineatus
Hooded
Scott's fairy

Earlei is nice if its on your budget.
Good luck

No butterflies? Maybe a trio of the pyramids, if they ever become available.

Thought butterflies were coral nippers? Also heard ones like the copperbanded were very hard to keep. If they are reef safe and hardy, I'd really consider them.

Already going to have fun with the Potter's Angel and Achilles in terms of introducing them and getting them nice and healthy.

My wife would LOVE a full sized angel, but as far as I can tell there aren't any reef safe types.

I know I'm skirting the reef safe nature of the fish I want with the Crosshatch and Potter's Angel already...

Yeah, pyramids and/or zoster butterflies would be great.

FWIW I've seen crosshatch triggers eat 3" anthias without hesitation.

Butterflies range from not safe at all to with caution to reef safe. I think pyramids a generally considered reef safe. Some people consider schooling banner fish to be reef safe also.

The Potters angel is a with caution fish. There are a number of butterflies in that same category.

UGH... we both love Triggers and figured that the Crosshatch would be one of the most reef safe ones we could get... I'm still 50/50 on this one :(

You have several tangs on your list, but none of the Bristletooth tangs. They are great algae eaters. Chevrons are splendid when young and not so pretty (IMO) when mature. But there are several other options as well.

Was thinking a bristletooth variant as well. Just felt like I was over-tanging :)

No clowns?
How about a trio of swallowtail angels?

liveaquaria has some acares midget chromis that don't grow more than 2 inches or so ... in a 450 u could keep a bunch of em or the lemon chromis

Bellus angel pair or other large angel. Skip the chromis, they have poor survival rates the last 8-10 months.

Sorry I see u have listed a black ice clown

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I just removed our Oc. Clown last week... she suddenly went nuts on the Black Ice Clown after a year of peace... was more than mating fighting... little guy could hardly swim any more.

I really want to think out my next move with clowns... will probably add in a "mate" that is suitable for the Black Ice.

I'd like to have more than a pair down the line... but I'm a little ****ed with clowns right now.
