Hi all,

I'm looking for stocking ideas.I have a 700ltr sumped system. With plenty of live rock.Tank is 6ft long.Current stock is a few lps and softies.
Fish :- Goldflake,Sailfin tang, pair of tomato clowns, royal gramma,4 blue star damsels and a gold streak blenny.
I was pondering getting some Anthias but after some research I realise
They require alor of regular feeding!so not sure !
Any suggestions regarding potential stock most welcome!

Regards Colin.

Most fish like regular feedings, could you set up an auto feeder?

Crikey you have some nice fish there! Is your tank a reef?

You could try some reef safe wrasses such as fairies or flashers. I personally like the Halichoeres wrasses but they are not 100% reef safe

Hi yeah I like the idea of getting some wrasses.
I'm also pondering/researching Anthias.Main problem being their feeding requirements. They need half a dozen feeds a day.Someone suggested an autofeeder i don't believe That would do the trick.

Regards Colin.

Not a reef, I love angels, angels love corals, therefore no corals for me

My Venustus Angel does not touch any of my sps. I don't have clams though. Once I move and put all my fish back into QT I will be on the hunt for another Venustus to make a pair. Three more months until the move.

Well my Goldflake leaves my corals alone!
I've seen a few tanks with angels and corals!
By the way Venustus angels are stunning.

I've never had an anthias either due to the fact that I have to constantly be around to feed them. That's just too many times to feed in one day, not to mention the amount of extra nutrients it could potentially produce. If you do decide to get an anthias or group of them I have heard that the Lyretail or Bartletts are the best for beginner anthias keepers, but not positive if that is true or not. I agree that an autofeeder might not work. It could possibly jam, or malfunction in some other way. I would steer clear of the anthias unless you are home or someone else can feed them for you regularly. Hope that helps and good luck!

Hi,yeah I think I'm going to give anthias a miss.Ive decided to get some nice wrasse.I also want a potters angel.

I'm sorry but 6 feedings a day is outrageous. My dispar in qt eat once a day most days and weekends maybe 2-3 and they are fat as heck. There are prob some species that do need 2-3 to really thrive but not my dispar..

Wrasses tend to eat alot but seem to burn it off just as quick. My midas blenny is a pig too, but none seem to be overweight. I feed 3 times a day or more if company is over to "watch the show".

Dispar anthias are one of the species I was considering(cracking fish).I have read quite a lot on another forum I go on,regarding regular feeding.Quite a lot of people feed Anthias 5 to 6 times aday, not as outrageous as you may think:)
