Im looking for some advice on what order you would add these fish in. Here is the set up first...

220 gal that will eventually (hopefully) be a mixed reef.
2 black photon clowns
Chromis
Foxface
Purple pseudochromis
Tail spot blenny
Coral beauty

Now here is the wishlist!
Pair of swallowtail angels
Potters angel
Scotts fairy wrasse
Anthias group
Sailfin tang
Clown tang
Misc. tang TBD (hippo possibly)

I believe they are compatible but am open to hear your experiences. Thanks in advance.

If these

From least aggressive to most aggressive. But from your list doesn't look like anything to watch for accept maybe the Clown tang I'd probably put last.

Thanks dkuhlmann...i guess i dont know what the aggression order would be here. I will add the clown tang last.

Clowns can be somewhat aggressive depending on their size. If small they're no problem. Some of the tangs can be to a degree so add all tangs last but the Clown tang dead last. Again some fish are different from others and some don't get aggressive until adult. It's really a crap shoot.

as dkuhlmann said, add it last. let the other fish establish themselves first, and try to get a small clown tang so it is not so aggressive.

Anthias, potters followed by the wrasse and swallowtails. Sailfin and hippo last. Skip the Clown tang, he will get larger and meaner by the day and will never allow you to add a thing in the future. I had a 2.5" clown tang and he was as aggressive a fish I have had

Also I would be very careful and keep an eye out on the introduction of the Potters Angel w/ the Coral Beauty. An established CB can be very aggressive to other newcomer angels. You should be ok with the size tank you have and if you have enough rock in there. Just be watchful.

+1 on skipping the Clown Tang.

I have read that if I were to add another dwarf angel it might help. Any experience with that?

I LOVE the look of them and I had interest in achilles and chevron tangs as well. It just seemed they were the most economical choice. I also read that the achilles was super aggressive. I will note your advice and do more research.

Yes, I had experience with a CB being so nice and didn't bother no one until I put a Flame Angel in the tank listening to my LFS (before I knew about this forum). My CB turn into a complete PITA! This all occurred in a 120 gallon with 110lbs of live rock. In your case the Potters Angel looks so similar to the CB and that's what I would be concern about. If they were going in together, I think you would be ok. I even had it go aggressively at a 5in. Majestic Angel

The acanthurus species of tangs seem to be most aggressive of the tangs, but each fish is different. You see the spectrum of behaviors, no two fish are alike.

Adding another angel at the same time as the Potter's may help but I would consider putting the Coral Beauty in the sump for a week or so, and add it back to the DT at the same time as the Potter's when it's coming out of QT for the best odds... I agree with scooter in that those two angels are as similar as it gets--perhaps a Bicolor, Flame, Flameback etc.--regardless of which species you get, I'd consider the introduction protocol of putting them in the DT at the same time so that there are no established territories by either... with enough time away from the DT for the Coral Beauty, you shouldn't have to rearrange the rock work.

Best of luck
Mike
