Stop Thief!

I just witnessed a tag team move between my algae blenny & diamond watchman goby. I brought home a really nice frag from Ocean Design, of 3 different colored zoas--about 30 heads total. I was watching the tank & saw the algae blenny rip off about 5 polyps & drop it down the the watchman & he shoveled it into his cave! I had to get the turkey baster to blow it out & glue it back. anyone witness the algae blenny doing this to their corals? I'm wondering how many more he has stolen! Darn... he's eyeballing it again... :mad2: That fish has way too much time on his hands!

Maybe you put the zoo's to close to his hangout, mine is very territorial!

Good point! The funny thing is though the watchman goby aiding & abetting

Well... I think I might have helped the watchman by knocking on the tank & yelling at the blenny. He dropped it in front of the goby's cave & he claimed it.

I had an algae eating blenny that went nutso once... he started out fine for 6 months or so then did not like any new additions to my tank. It began with me noticing a nice big circular mark on the side of this beautiful tiny little niger trigger. Eventually I saw the blenny was actually taking the shots at it. Not long after that I came home to find him riping my sand sifting star limb from limb as it feebley attempted to run away. Needles to say the bleeny got the boot. I hope your doesnt go psycho like mine did.

OK, this guy's history! I had a couple of reefriends over & right in front of us, this fish went over to my new really colorful zoas & ripped off a polyp & ate it! I think he's gone insane or something. If it takes me all weekend, he's going into my fuge, till I can get him to Coral Reef. NIMFT!!!

It definitely takes 2 hands to catch a fish like that in a tank like mine (a entire wall of rock). I've been trying to catch him for 2 days. He kept going into a corner where I couldn't reach him, so I finally took a pen & poked at him & he swam right into the net. I wanted to throw him on the ground & stomp on him but instead I put him in my fuge & fed him an algae wafer. He's going to Coral Reef tomorrow. Good riddance! I wonder how many zoas he's actually been eating in the past 2 years I've had him. Been missing a lot of frags throughout the years.
