Storing R/O Water

Yeah - that's what I'm hoping for - I can use the pump to move water from the fresh to the salt mix, and to mix the salt, an then to pump the salt out into a bucket/hose/whatever. Just trying to figure out which external/dry pump will work.

Where is the barrel going? Garage? Do you have the height for 2 barrels? If so, you could do a setup I had running for a couple years. I built a sturdy wood platform above the bottom barrel #1 and had barrel #2 on the platform. The top barrel, #2, was the RO barrel and the bottom was salt. I had an iwaki pump connected to the bottom barrel for mixing the salt and also to pump to my tank for water changes. The top barrel was connected to the top of the bottom barrel with a valve so I could drain the RO in to the salt barrel, start making new salt, and then fill the RO barrel with the RO/DI unit. I also has an arm coming off that line with a valve so I could fill a bucket with RO. Lastly, I had a line coming off the output of the salt barrel that went 90degrees up about 2', then two 90s with a valve so I could fill a bucket with salt using gravity as opposed to the iwaki pump (would shoot out to fast even with valve due to pressure). Worked great.

I do have the vertical room but I don’t have access to any of my woodworking tools right now. They’re all in the garage of my house which I don’t have access to due to the in-process divorce.

The R/O system and 55 Gallon storage tank is going in the utility room at my office. I plan on pumping the water out of the barrel into 5 gallon buckets and mixing the salt in the buckets. I have a circulation pump and header for each of my 3 buckets.

That said I do need a pump but an iwaki pump is overkill for sure - I don't need anything crazy but I do need something non-submerged that I can plumb PVC to.

Ordered a 50PX-X - 1110 GPH - PAN WORLD for the water handling system. By my math it should work well.

That's what I'm using, works very well.
I only run it to mix the salt, plus an additional 12-24 hours, and to transfer to the holding barrel, where is remains unheated and uncirculated.

I’m going to build a wooden stand for the top R/O Barrel and put a pipe in the bottom with a valve to fill the bottom barrel with gravity.

I’ll then use the pump to mix the bottom barrel and to pump it into buckets.

Got the R/O system installed. Making water a lot faster than I remember my last one going - but this one is the 150GPD where as the last one was only a 75.
