I think the pajama cardinal may have picked on him a little at the very beginning (he had a little nip on his tail), but I had not noticed any aggression in the last week or so, and I watched them extensively during feeding time.
I had to go through with the euthanasia (by cold water shock, approved as humane by some animal association). It's one of the most difficult things I've had to do, and I cried like a baby. I thought about waiting it out, but I couldn't stand to watch the firefish suffer any more than I could stand taking his life. He had his head buried in a corner between some rocks, and his body was failing around above him. It was awful, and I didn't see any hope for recovery. Has anyone seen a fish recover from symptoms this severe? I assumed he was too far gone, and I sure hope I was correct because the last thing I wanted to do was to give up on him.
Now what about my pajama cardinal? Is he at risk? Should I pretreat him? (Prazipro?)
